In the Balance

Purpose

In September 2020, the Design Futures Council held a Virtual Event on the Future of Environmental Responsibility. Buoyed by the presentations we had an idea: Let’s continue the momentum!

In response, we acted on that idea. A dozen presenters and attendees stepped up to write essays. DesignIntelligence agreed to edit, compile, and publish their collective work and share it with the public in a digital format. Beyond our mission to build momentum and generate action, we wondered: could we use this work as a fundraiser? We decided we could, and with this ebook, we have. Think of it like a Kickstarter campaign. To support environmental responsibility, a minimal access fee is assessed to view these essays online. The presenter selection committee identified organizations that will receive the proceeds to fund their initiatives. Based on their recommendations, six dollars of each access fee will be donated to:
