The National Trust for Historic Preservation annually recognizes citizens, organizations, and public and private entities for their dedication to and support of historic preservation. A jury of preservation professionals selects the winners of the National Preservation Awards using such criteria as the projects’ positive effect on the community, pioneering nature, quality, and degree of difficulty. Special interest is also placed on projects that use historic preservation as a method of revitalization. www.preservationnation.org
